Welcome to the Illahee Restaurant
The Illahee Restaurant, Bakery & Catering is owned and operated by Arlene Dian. She moved to Glide in the 1970's with her three children so that they could grow up in a country environment, bought a home on Little River Road and opened the first Munchies which is found here in Glide. Her children Danny, Darren and Debbie are remembered by the locals working in different positions for mom while they were is school.
Once her children all left the nest Arlene decided
that it was time to move on and sold the Munchies in Glide in 1986.
She moved to Ashland and opened another restaurant named Munchies where
her son Darren and his wife Chris were an integral part of it's
popularity and success.
Both of the restaurants had the same type of menus however in Ashland
she added a bakery which started serving her world famous desserts.
Arlene retained ownership of the Munchies in Ashland until 2005.
In the meantime however, she bought property in "downtown" Glide almost
across the street from her original Munchies restaurant. After
months of working on the property and building the Illahee Restaurant &
Bakery came into being with a grand opening in June 2002. Run
originally by her oldest son Danny, Arlene
eventually
took over management when she sold the Ashland Munchies and built a
home in Glide. Her daughter Debbie shortly thereafter moved from
Texas and came back into the business where she was a major factor in
it's continuing success until she went back to Texas in the Fall of
2009.
With the Illahee Restaurant & Bakery, Arlene decided she would carry over some of her original Munchies menu with wonderful burgers and sandwiches but she also added fine dining with freshly prepared to order dinners and a fine wine menu consisting of mainly Oregon and Washington wines with a few California ones thrown in. A variety of bottled beers and one or two on tap round out the alcohol selection.
Arlene would like to extend her personal invitation to come and visit the Illahee Restaurant. Whether you're just out for a drive to see one of the many waterfalls and need a cookie to take with you or you want to enjoy one of our great sandwiches, burgers or salads. Drop in anytime and you will take away memorable memories of a great meal, excellent service .
Be sure to check out the Illahee Inn, a wonderful place to stay located right next to the restaurant. Popular year round with large oversize rooms, two queen beds, sitting area, wireless internet and much, much more! Ask your server today about accommodations.
